It has been a season of holidays at FMA. In October, for Halloween, we had an amazing buffet of delicious things, including a skull covered with sandwich meats, witches’ fingers, caramel apples, and cupcakes decorated with glass shards made of sugar. We all carved jack-o-lanterns, and had a contest.

For Thanksgiving, the kitchen crew prepared a huge feast of turkey, peas, 24-hour fruit salad, porridge rolls, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. We all dressed up in our finest, and finished the night off with pumpkin and apple pie. We also had guests: two former FMA students joined us, as well all the staff and their family.

In December, we had a week of Secret Santa and exchanged gifts with one another. We made cutting boards for our families, and we practiced Christmas carols. Then we went to a nearby church and sang with our neighbors. They prepared a spectacular feast for us, and we all enjoyed spending time with them, and sharing in the joy of the season.

On the last night of school before break, we gathered together and enjoyed Christmas cookies prepared by the kitchen crew, sang carols, and listened to Mr. Kevin read Stubby Pringle’s Christmas aloud. It was a fun, last night together, and put us all in the mood for a wonderful time at home with our families.
