“Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.”—Luke 12: 6-7
Whatever your religion is, you are here on this planet for a reason. Luke illustrates that you can live a life full of self-worth. You can believe that you are lifeless and believe that life didn’t want you here because no one loves or cares about you, but if that were really true, then why are you this far into your life? Though this quote has God in it, it does not mean that those who are not religious cannot believe that the world was made for a reason, for mankind. If I tried to throw my life away, I’m sure the people who know me would remember and look back and think of how they wouldn’t want to survive without me in their lives. One quote that I learned and have used is “Life gives you what you ask for, whether you want it or not.” This is like that quote from Luke, because thinking twice about your self-worth, and who you really are in the eyes of others can be precious and life-saving. The Creator, or whomever you want to believe in, made you in the image of him/herself. If you start thinking of your life as being precious, then you will know you are more protected and loved than you ever realized.
