The soft strumming of a guitar complemented by the distant melodic strains of a violin is present as the fire crackles on the hearth. At FMA, acoustic music is enjoyed in the absence of iPods, c.d.’s, tapes, vinyl, and all other forms of recorded music. The music here is provided by the talent of the students and staff playing acoustic instruments. Everyone who plays brings something different to the table. I play the violin. Other students play guitar, or piano, or sing. We all have different musical tastes. I like bluegrass, classical, and a variety of other genres. Others like rock, pop, or dub-step. When all of our tastes, talents, and time come together, it creates a wonderful mix. The music scene is diverse and one of a kind, and I definitely enjoy it.
